HERE Creative Centre

Creative joy and joyous creativity

HERE Creative Centre in Stöðvarfjörður was founded in 2011 when a group of creative individuals undertook the project of renovating the village's old fish factory and rebuild it as a creative centre and a workshop for artists, emphasising on self-sustainable renovation and development. The Creative Centre's ideology builds on recyclable design where recyclable materials are put to new use in art pieces as well as design.

The Creative Centre is also a forum for collaboration between different creative fields and offers facilities and workshops for visiting artists.

A zealous group of creatively and environmentally working  people have lead the renovation of the 2.300 m3 space that belonged to the former fish factory. Among the projects that are in the make is  Studio Silo, the remaking of a former ice tank into a recording and editing studio. The Creative Centre also handles the manufacturing of handmade wooden children's toys from Stubbur; a toy line that offers the Icelandic farm animals, whales, seals and reindeers.
