Days of Darkness

A cultural festival to celebrate the midwinter

This cultural festival is held each November throughout all of East Iceland, with a wide variety of offerings related to light and dark. The Days of Darkness is a newly developed grass roots festival so the program changes from year to year and is only a subject to the imagination. The festival can revolve around ghost stories to romance and from concerts to offers in shops and restaurants.

The program for Days of Darkness is usually announced in the middle of October each year. Get familiar with the program and check out what happens in the East of Iceland during the Days of Darkness.
