Polar festival / People Enjoying People

The classic poems of Hávamál, the Sayings of the Highest Placed, state that people enjoy people, which certainly holds true for this celebration of culture and self-sustainability. Held on the third weekend of July, the festivities include concerts, art shows, short courses and much more. 

Polar festival was first held in the summer of 2013 in Stöðvarfjörður in collaboration with the local festival People Enjoying People. The goal was to introduce people to Stöðvarfjörður and Stöðvarfjörður to people. 

The main focus of the festival are creativity and cuisine culture with great emphasis on self-sustainability and the close environment. The festival offers a colorful program, workshops, seminars, culinary art, yoga, music and a festival spirit.
