You can enjoy fishing from the pier at any time of the year, just like the residents of Fjarðabyggð. 

Many rivers and lakes in the area offer excellent fishing, including for instance Sléttuá river and Reyðarfjarðará river in Reyðarfjörður, Eskifjarðará river in Eskifjörður, Dalsá river in Fáskrúðsfjörður, Norðfjarðará in Neskaupstaður, and Víkurvatn lake, by Vöðlvavík. After your trip, you can turn in your angler report at the same stores. 

The Mjóeyri Travel Service offers sea bird and ptarmigan hunting and sea angling.
