Fjarðabyggð's Visitor Centre is in Stöðvarfjörður, the fjord that lies by the southern end of the municipality. The centre shares location and opening hours with the Salthússmarkaður Art and Craft Market, which is run collectively by local crafts people.

The centre is superb for those who'd like to sit down and leisurely plan their visit to Fjarðabyggð and vicinities. An information kiosk carries the all basic travel print, such as maps and brochures on the region. A hot spot is not available on the premises but if you need to go online, you can browse on an iPad, embeded on the front side of the kiosk.
